Can we believe this book was written in 1926, borrowing the ancient wisdom on money from the city of Babylon. No !!!
Its an absolutely amazing read, that motivates us to action. The below lines are one of my favorites.
“No man's family can fully enjoy life unless they do have a plot of ground wherein children can play in the clean earth and where the wife may raise not only blossoms but good rich herbs to feed her family."
One of the finest poets in tamizh, Bharathiyaar in his below lines, i think insists the very thought which is passed on from as long as 4000 years ago, from the then richest city Babylon..
Above lines translated to english...
I need a small piece of land , Oh divine mother ,A small piece of land, and there... (few lines)
Near ten or twelve coconut trees , moon light should come
Like a shining pearl and there the soft song of the nightingales,
Should come and fall in my ears to make mind happy,
Good light breeze should blow to make me further happy.
I think this is one of the basic principles, this book on money management tells us. Lets also enjoy life while building prosperity, though indirectly and owning a home is an investment too.

There are wonderful suggestions, rules that strangely hold cent percent true even today after 4000 long years. A wonderful book on Money Management - Saving, Debt Handling, Building Wealth and Investing the wealth.
Great that these rules and ways of money are not conveyed plain and boring but through short tales. One of the must reads for anyone, who wishes to become rich, knowing the tried and tested wisdom of rich people from the richest city.
Below are the few lines, that would convey this book's depth of wisdom.
Wealth, like a tree, grows from a tiny seed. The first copper you save is the seed from which your tree of wealth shall grow. The sooner you plant that seed the sooner shall the tree grow. And the more faithfully you nourish and water that tree with consistent savings, the sooner may you bask in contentment beneath its shade.
Advice is one thing that is freely given away, but watch that you take only what is worth having
The first sound principle of investment is security for thy principal. Is it wise to be intrigued by larger earnings when thy principal may be lost? I say not.
Guard thy treasure from loss by investing only where thy principal is safe, where it may be reclaimed if desirable, and where thou will not fail to collect a fair rental.
The more of wisdom we know, the more we may earn. That man who seeks to learn more of his craft shall be richly rewarded. If he is an artisan, he may seek to learn the methods and the tools of those most skillful in the same line. If he laboreth at the law or at healing, he may consult and exchange knowledge with others of his calling. If he be a merchant, he may continually seek better goods that can be purchased at lower prices.
Good luck, we do find, often follows opportunity but seldom comes otherwise.
If you desire to help thy friend, do so in a way that will not bring thy friend's burdens upon thyself.
